海角社区appSubmits Testimony Outlining Funding Priorities for Research and Public Health Programs in FY 2021

April 6, 2020

海角社区appsubmitted testimony outlining our funding priorities for research funding at the US Department of Agriculture and the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science, National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Our testimony for USDA emphasizes the importance of increasing funding for the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative, which funds competitive extramural research, and requests funding for the Advanced Agriculture Research and Development Authority pilot program, which would focus on high-risk, high-reward research. The testimony for the DOE Office of Science highlights the National Microbiome Data Collaborative and the Bioenergy Research Centers, requesting a slight increase in the overall Office of Science budget to keep pace with inflation.
Our testimony to House Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies requests that Congress provide at least $44.7 billion for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and at least $8.3 billion for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in fiscal year (FY) 2021.
