Phyu M. Thwe, Ph.D., D(ABMM), MLS(ASCP)CM, is associate director, infectious disease testing at Montefiore Medical Center and assistant professor, department of pathology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Thwe loves teaching young microbiologists, pathology and infectious disease residents. She regularly writes case studies with trainees and young microbiologists for ASCP's "Lablogatory" blog to provide continuing education. Thwe’s also passionate in raising awareness about the field and loves hanging out with her birdies and kitties, kayaking, hiking, biking and volunteering at bird shelters.
